"Best Days Ever" Captured

Sessions Documented

Meet Joey

What led you to becoming a photographer?
"Since I was a kid, I've always had an interest in photography. From using a point and shoot to my first DSLR, being able to create art while capturing art was a lot of fun to me. I started taking portraits in high school and shortly after started capturing weddings."

What do you love most about wedding days?
"What I love most about wedding days is being able to see and capture a couple come together and celebrate their love."

How do you spend your free time?
"In my free time, I enjoy hiking, going to concerts, and checking out grocery stores for fun finds."

Favorite travel destination?
"My favorite travel destination is anywhere with mountains. From Montana to Colorado, put me in the mountains and I'll be a happy camper."

Meet Lynsey

What led you to becoming a photographer?
"My camera became my best friend during a really hard time in life and I found so much healing in learning how to capture the beauty of every moment. Every second is special and fleeting and someday, all we will have are memories; photography allows me to return to those memories and remember the sweetness of each moment."

What do you love most about wedding days?
"I love getting to experience the uniqueness of every love story and watching the way love brings people together the way nothing else can."

How do you spend your free time?
"Outside of photography, I am in full-on mom-life! Taking care of my little ones and spending time with them comes first, so to find balance, I try to mesh my hobbies with theirs. This means we spend a lot of time playing outside, reading books, and cooking together."

Favorite travel destination?
"I'm a little bit more of a homebody than a traveler with the stage of life I'm in now, but will travel up the North Shore any and every day that I can. I love to be close to the lake; I feel like it reminds me of my purpose and path in life."

Meet Olivia

What led you to becoming a photographer?
"I first had an interest when I was 13. Got a camera and just started taking photos of everything and fell in love with it!"

What do you love most about wedding days?
"It's so hard to choose! I loveee taking photos of details, first looks will aways give me the goosebumps, and the first dances. Those have such a special place in my heart."

How do you spend your free time?
"If I'm not photographing weddings, I'm home with my husband and 2 boys. We love exploring the outdoors so if it's sunny out, we're probably outside."

Favorite travel destination?
"The Florida Keys! It's stunning and the ocean is so inviting!"

FAQ's about the Team

You said you aren't available for our wedding day, but you have an "associate photographer" who is available. What does that mean?

Great question! If you inquire for a date that I am personally unavailable, one of my awesome Team Members may be available to capture your day on my behalf. Each of my Team Members are trained professionals who I have personally vetted; they uphold the same standards of excellence that I have for my business. They will be present to document every little moment, but I will take care of editing the photos! Think of it as me being in 2 places at once! Plus, you will still get the Emmie Verdell Photography experience, but with the added bonus of meeting one of the sweet souls above.

Is an associate photographer the same thing as a "second photographer"?

Not necessarily. A "second photographer" would actually accompany me to your wedding! 2nd photographers are not included in my packages, but can be added on. While hiring a 2nd photographer isn't required, it is such a fun addition to ensure every angle and moment are captured. For example while I'm photographing the look on your groom's face as you walk down the aisle, and my 2nd can capture you actually walking down the aisle.

My 2nd photographers may or may not be one of my Team Members, but all of my second photographers are professionals who I truly value.

***If you end up hiring an Associate Photographer, you would still have the option of adding a second photographer on!

Do your Team Members fill in for you at weddings, or do they photograph other kinds of sessions?

This is totally dependent on availability and specific circumstances. If I am available for your session, I would love nothing more to be the one to document it! I will do my best to find a date that works for all parties involved. But if you only have one date that you could make family photos, perhaps one of my Team Members could capture them for you!

In the unlikely event of an emergency that prevented me from documenting your session, we would either reschedule your session OR I would have a Team Member step in to fill my place.

I am a wedding photographer. How could I become a second shooter or an associate for your team?

Ah! I am so glad you asked -- I am always looking for more incredible photographers to add to my team. Feel free to send me an email (emmieverdellphotography@gmail.com) with your portfolio! I can't wait to hear from you!

still searching for a Videographer?

If you think he looks familiar, yes...we've been told a time or two that we look alike. Meet my brother, Jackson - founder of JCB Videography! Jackson has spent the past 5 years filming love stories, often alongside me.

One of the questions I ask my couples when putting together their timeline and details is if they have a wedding videographer - and who they are. As a wedding photographer, it is my job to communicate effectively with all the vendors you hire. It's a huge bonus when I have worked with your videographer before (though it's obviously not required). Having a media team that has worked together before is the perfect "recipe" for smoothly documented moments.

Because Jackson and I have worked together so many times before, I know where he will be during vows, what angle he'll tackle for the first look, and so forth. Similarly, he knows when I'll snag the details for flat lay photos, where I will be during the ceremony, etc. Overall, he is truly amazing and would be an incredible addition to your media team!
